Catching a fish on a fly that you tied yourself is probably one of the most rewarding experiences in the sport/art of fly fishing.  I offer fly tying courses for all skill levels.  The Beginning Fly Tying course covers the basic tools, materials, and techniques that you need to learn to make a start.  Intermediate to advanced level courses are tailored to the individual.  Whether you want to learn to tie imitations for catching trout, panfish, or even saltwater species, I can help you improve your skills once you have already made a start.  Equipment and materials are provided for the Beginning Fly Tying course and may or may not be provided for more advanced level courses.  I also stress the importance of learning how to determine what insects are hatching, or are atleast available for fish to eat, and then how to tie various patterns to match the different lifestages of those insects.  How to read hatch charts and incorporate the information into your tying skills.

See the Rates and Scheduling Page for details….

This Page will also contain links to cool fly tying sites, forums, etc.  Knowing where to find this information is half the battle, hopefully this makes things a little easier for you…if you have suggestions let me know…
